Robin (Rob, Hammer, Bobby Vegas???) Hamilton is an internationally recognized jazz guitarist who plays regularly with such high profile artists as Moka Only, Soul Decision, Lee Aaron, and Kia Kadiri and local Vancouver favorites Soulstream, Crash, Bill Runge's Acid Test, Chad Makela’s Quartet, Chris Gestrin's Green Eggs and Hammond, and party band Famous Players. Rob's playing credits have also included playing with legends Sir Tom Jones, Lionel Hampton, Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, Ndugu Chancellor, JR Robinson, Suzie McNeil, Seamus Blake, Jerry Bergonzi, Bobby Shew, Bill Watrous, and Frank Mantooth. Rob studied with Canadian jazz guitar legend Oliver Gannon from age 12 and later went on to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music under a full tuition scholarship. He has extensive studio, composing, and performing experience and his playing is featured on video games such as “The Simpson’s Hit and Run” and his composing is featured on television shows such as “The L-Word” and "The Dead Zone". Known as one of the busiest and most in demand guitarists in Vancouver, it’s not unheard of for Rob to play up to 250 gigs a year! Although he considers himself a “jazz” guitarist, Rob is heavily influenced and involved in many styles of music including rock, funk, hip hop, classical, reggae, metal, world, and country. Although his eventual ambitions are to take over the world with his guitar and declare himself king spreading a time of darkness over his minions, in the meanwhile he will be working on composing and recording tunes for his first full length recording under his own name.
